Stay Safe

All our homes come standard with impact windows and doors throughout and are rated to withstand winds of 150 mph. Additionally our impact windows and doors provide protection from intruders by being able to withstand blunt-force impact from a nine pound, sixteen foot 2” x 4” beam traveling at 50 feet per second. Our impact windows give you an added measure of security if you are away from home for a period of time. Incidentally, our impact windows provide significant sound protection, making our homes quiet and comfortable and do away with unsightly shutters and the screws and rails that hold them in place. All our homes come equipped with multiple smoke and CO2 detectors.

Keep Insurance Costs Low

At GULFSTAR HOMES  we build our homes to minimize your insurance costs by using:

  • All block construction
  • Impact windows, doors and garage doors throughout
  • A secondary peel and stick water barrier under the roof shingles
  • Using hip roofs instead of gable roofs where possible and architecturally applicable

Additionally, all our homes are built outside of flood zones.

Keep Maintenance Costs Low

We keep your maintenance costs low by:

  • Using maintenance-free stucco on block construction
  • Installing a well on every home to supply free water for your 3-zone sprinkler system
  • Using washable Sherwin Williams paint on all interior and exterior walls, the front entrance and lanai floors, and the garage floor
  • Using long-life LED light bulbs in all fixtures
  • Using a 30-year limited lifetime architectural shingle and peel and stick secondary water barrier on your roof
  • Using porcelain tile with a 50-year life expectancy throughout your home
  • Using maintenance-free PGT 5500 series Winguard vinyl windows throughout your home
  • Using virtually maintenance–free granite countertops, window sills and shower seat, all tile showers in the bathrooms, a tile backsplash in the kitchen and a tiled half-wall at the kitchen island
